Is 1974 AD ready to get back out on the market?Absolutely Susma, We are very excited about our new album which adrianwas just launched few days before friends, fans and media. Within this short period, the response we are getting is unbelievable, selling out everywhere.

So the band is a well-oiled machine when it comes to the music, how do you make the magic of success happen?
We manage ourselves, basically. Overall, you know, we kind of rule the roost. We know what to do, and we don’t compromise when there is a matter of where quality music is concerned.kuddos to the fans. We’ve been doing this for so long.

Where do you look for inspiration these days?
There’s a story on every street corner, susma. All you have to do is open your eyes. I start songwriting always with a conversation, how we’re feeling and what’s going on with our families, countries or in the world. It’s been that way from day one – I sit in the room with guitars and a tape player. I do the old school

It’s been a while; you’ve started doing solo work also. Do you enjoy that stuff?
I love it. That’s very important also. It’s very important to the enrichment of the individual and it also gives you a little space to do your own thing and have your own indivisuality so that band isn’t the only thing that you do. And then, when you come back to the band you come back with so much more.
And yes, I got fame from 1974 AD but it is a team work. Iadrian did like to start my career individually and also it’s a fact, money matters coz I want to enrich my living too.

New things you are busy with..
Currently, we, (1974 AD) just released our 8th album entitled “Aath Athara” (8/18) on the 18th of August at Moksh. “Aath Athara” consists of eight songs which includes a great variety of music complementing to the taste buds of the listeners. There are love songs, patriotic songs, songs dedicated to youth, songs to drive etc. Santana Records has produced this album and also has taken the responsibility of the distribution of CDs. A music video from the album’s fifth song ‘Bardaan’ was also shown for the first time during the event.
Share something about your solo venture.
“Sath” is what I am doing right now. It’s my fourth solo venture. My new solo album, “Sath” boasts of eight tracks is heartily tribute to all my fans, friends and family. The promotional track called “Macha khelcha panima” is a lively, rock and roll number. One music video from “Sath” was released which is directed by Sanjeev Rai. In this album also, there is a taste of my slow and ballad songs including fast and tamang selo which will be quite a treat for my listeners.

How did you start your melodic career?
From the school life, I was so passionate about music. So I started from the Flames Band of kalimpong (Darjeeling) as a vocalist and guitarist. Then after I came to Kathmandu and joined the band 1974 AD in key board.

No doubt, you are versatile. But tell us truly, what you enjoy most?
Overall, I don’t adrianundermine to any of my talent but I don’t get full satisfaction from anything. I joined 1974 AD as a Keyboardist than after I played Drums. Now I am professional vocalist and yes, it’s been three years that I am learning to play Piano also. But the reason for not being satisfied with anything may be the reason that I am human.

Adrian, how do you manage your family life?

I am a complete family person. I love to stay at home as soon as I get time. I usually don’t prefer to go party. I have my Mum, wife (Sumi pradhan), 9 years old son (Prajol raj pradhan) who is studying at class five. I enjoyed with them. At times when I am on tour,I miss them so much so as soon as I get back I plan a trip with them to rekindle the moments that has been missed.

Your inspiration from Nepali music industry.
That would be Deep shrestha dai and my fellow contemporaries such as Satya rai acharya, and Sanoop poudel.

What do you expect from Nepali Market?
Nepali market is very small, everyone knows this fact. But I feel better because of the Digital marketing. So what we can do is, just create a height, create good albums, do high advertisement and from that get live concerts.

Your interest beside music.
I am a nature lover so i enjoy trekking and am quite a movie buff as well. I love to watch Nepali Movies like Samjhana, Kusume rumal. The latest that I watched was Kagbeni . You all might not know, Bhuvan KC is my favourite nepali artist.
