And Its Time To Sing
June 28th, 2010
“The greatest part of being a student at Nepal Music Center, was meeting all different kinds of people from all different walks of life, and it’s even better when you put your differences aside and unite to create music, it’s just the best feeling in the world, like ever”, chirps a very young Renasha Ghimire, one of the students from western faculty of Nepal Music Center. Indeed, one bond to bring them all and the link is music! And all that hard work is about to get showcased, the students are gearing up for a concert, at the Attic Bar, Lazimpat.
“Please come and support our upcoming talents from NMC at Attic this Wednesday! We promise you a good time, and maybe you also want to join for some jamming later on?” quips the vocal teacher from Norway, Miss Merethe Vadstein Welle. “It provides an opportunity for our students to perform in a venue with a professional stage, lighting, and acoustics – for many students this is a first time experience, and your presence will be appreciated, and yes it’s for FREE!”
And it does look promising, what’s with the incredible line up of performances; songs ranging from the likes of Frank Sinatra to ABBA, Jamiroquai to Dave Matthews Band and even some Dream Theater treatment. A solid mix of music from western pop, rock and jazz! Plus the students will also be performing four choir songs, including one Norwegian folk tune! They will be accompanied by 7th Gravity, an upcoming band, who will be playing some of their originals as well.
So feel like taking a mini break from all that football craze? How about accepting the invitation that’s open to everyone! Head on to Attic Bar this Wednesday 30th June, it all starts 7 PM onwards. The word is music and it’s for free, please spread the word!
