When it’s music for a noble cause, it’s better than ever. In an effort to discourage global warming, entertainment network Positive Vibes along with Kamana News Publications presented Save The Planet- an inter college music competition and its finals on March 6, Saturday was one hell of a show!!

The top 10 bands were literally battling it out on stage at Bhrikutimandap Fun Park with their weapons- their music instruments of course and boy oh boy, were the performances absolutely mind blowing or what!! However in the end, only one could walk out victorious and the group which was crowned as the big winner was Stairs of Cirith from Little Angels’ College of Management (LACM)!!! Deja vu of RIBS College landed as 1st runner up and the 2nd runner up band Rage Hybrid of Intensive College rocked the crowd real intensely! Their heavy metal presentation brought all the head bangers forward which really pumped up the show’s tempo.

The results were evaluated in the proportion of 30% audience voting and 70% judges’ decision. The panel of judges consisted of Udesh Lal Shrestha, Rockin Lal Shrestha, Prabhat Manandhar, Anil Shakya and Sushil who’re all personalities involved in the rock music field.

Over all, it was a satisfying program with superb guest performances by Mukti And Revival, Shirish Khadka, Wabbash! Cannon Ball, Anuprastha, Alt + F4 and Sound Cuddles who were as awesome as ever!! The boys have really lived up to the title of being this year’s Sprite Band Challenge winners.

Celebrating 25 years of service, both Kamana News Publications and RIBS College and School have given a great platform for Nepali youngsters to showcase their musical talent and needless to say, it was very evident at the competition. We hope to see more doors of opportunity opening up in the future and once again, congratulations to the winner of Save The Planet- Stairs of Cirith!!
