Blues to Bhajans…

February 4th, 2010

Everyone who is anyone is complaining about load shedding. And amidst all of them moaners and groaners, Pooja Gurung does stand out; from load shedding “Blues” she goes full on “Bhajan”… seriously!A delightful mix of talent with a striking personality, who would have thought that PG is a crooner of them strands of spiritual melody. And mind you she’s not bad, lest you forget she was one of the performers at “women in concert”. Singing is definitely not a virgin territory for this multitalented chica from the Dazz hills.

But still we had to ask, “What is your favorite load shedding activity PG??… errrr and yes, let’s keep the answer rated PG”.

With an arched eyebrow and a mischievous grin spreading on her animated face Pooja responds, “Do you really want to know?? The list it pretty long”… See?? We knew this was coming, hence the tag- keep it rated PG. Anyways “batti jhyaap” is the time when Pooja finds herself reading, writing and thinking, a lot! It’s the time when silence becomes golden and creative juices start flowing… Uh-huh!!

An actor by interest and a filmmaker by enthusiasm, she’s also into writing; and of course add singing to her repertoire… So how does she manage? Or is it the case of fingers in too many pies? PG tells us, “Prioritizing is the key… one project at a time”. She’s currently busy working with the short film factory project 2010 and her film Changa was recently screened at GAA Hall.

With never-say-die attitude, this gutsy, determined lady leads life on her terms. Be it her personal or professional life, she lives it with finesse and aplomb. Poo you are a Cheegu, a title that so befits you…
