Sounds New and Refreshing

January 29th, 2010

From among a bunch of new artists enrolling the music biz these, do take our words: the name Shruti Singh Thakuri is definitely one of those whom we can look out for.Currently doing her Bachelor’s of Business Studies, second year at Cosmopolitan College, the fresh singer is coming out with her debut within 2-3 weeks. She’s chosen to call it “Shruti” simply because it’s a word related to music and obviously because that’s her name. We will of course be getting to hear her sing in the set some R&B, pop, folk tunes but Shruti will also be getting a chance to some other interesting artists with whom she’s sung duets. The guest appearances have been made by Sugam Pokharel, Mohit Munal, and Alis Karki. The seven-track compilation is being released under Rebel Creation and with assistance from big names like Pokharel and Tsujil Karmacharya, we can certainly hope for more up-to-the-mark music. At present a music video is being made for the single “Aakashko Chano” which embraces folk-pop pattern loved by almost everyone these days, including us and personally, our girl tags “Antim Aash” as her best among all.

Well, the best part about our newcomer is that she’s not into this whole singing thing just because it seems like a trend to be in the industry or a mere interest backed by financial control. Shruti was into it since her childhood and even took vocal classes from master Prabhu Raj Dhakal to nurture her passion. No wonder, hard work was fun for her while recording her first album. Apart from her solo assignment, Shruti has also started engaging herself in movie projects. One of them is called “Desh ley ragat mage”. Absolutely not bad for a beginner…So we don’t mind stating that Shruti Singh Thakuri will be rising and shining high very soon.
