The original pop star Mr.Om Bikram Bista was in his elemental best, he enthralled the audience in Colorado. The Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal hosted “Night with Om Bikram Bista” on 23rd January; and it was a sold out event from the word go. Veteran television personality, Rama Singh played the perfect hostess to this sleekly packaged spectacle that had the NRN reeling with joy and clamouring for Mr. Bista’s autograph.

And being the digger for information that we are, we managed to nab some of our “cheegu” friends who actually attended the event; and according to the firsthand account, it was worth every single penny!! Paisa Wasool…

Mr. Bista is no less than a legend and some of his songs precede even his reputation take for example “म मौनतामा अल्झिरहेको एउटा जीवन”; in fact that track was like hitting a mute button, everything went silent and the only thing that mattered was the man in dazzling white coat singing… Magic had been turned on, and its medium was music!!

Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal (RMFN) is a non-profit organization in the state of Colorado that has been actively organizing such events for the past several years. Closer to date, only couple of months ago they had organized “Meera Rana Cultural Night” and now by staging “Night with Om Bikram Bista” they have proved the age old adage – “You can take me out of Nepal but you can’t take love for Nepal out of me”… Uh-huh!! Yes, we the cheeguz can also get very patriotic… Jai Nepal!!
